The National Railway Museum
An invaluable cultural asset and partner at York Central is the incredible National Railway Museum, whose entrance will sit directly on the brand-new Museum Square.
In January 2023 the museum’s Station Hall closed for its biggest redevelopment since it opened in 1975, to pave the way for a central hall designed to link the two halves of the museum together, as well as providing level access throughout the York Central site.
As part of this work, the museum’s Great Hall will also be reimagined with new indoor and outdoor spaces, which will complement their new Wonderlab attraction that offers extraordinary scientific experiences for all the family.
