York Central will provide the city of York and the wider region with 1 million square feet of new office and commercial space.

As part of phase 1, we will be delivering one of the UK’s most sustainable office buildings, with a 99,190 sq ft, timber framed, Innovation Hub aimed at attracting some of the brightest minds in the rail tech, agri-tech, innovation, biotech, digital, creative and education sector.

National Railway Museum
An invaluable cultural asset and partner at York Central is the iconic National Railway Museum, whose entrance will sit directly on the brand-new Museum Square.
The museum is undergoing the biggest redevelopment since it opened in 1975. In 2023 Wonderlab opened, offering an extraordinary scientific experience to engage families and schools. The restored Station Hall building also reopened in September 2025 as the museum celebrated its 50th birthday.
Now the museum is working on the most ambitious part of their transformation: a new sustainable Central Hall building, designed to link the two halves of the museum together. Construction begins in 2026 and when opened it will provide level access and a brand-new Railway Futures Gallery.
