York Central Community Drop In Event

On Thursday the 31st July, we welcomed 194 local residents to our latest community engagement event, all of whom had come to find out more about our plans for York Central, which is one of the largest regeneration projects in the UK.

The drop-in event took place in the heart of the city centre at the historic Guildhall between 3pm and 7pm, giving attendees the opportunity to meet the team and find out more about the progress we are making on this brand-new city quarter for York.

On the day, over 20 representatives from our development team, and appointed design team, were in attendance to answer questions and explain the more about our plans. Partners from the National Railway Museum and Network Rail were also on hand to provide more information about the museum and plans to replace Wilton Rise footbridge.

This event formed part of our ongoing and regular community engagement programme, following on from activity last year and a previous drop-in session we held in February. Over 8,000 households around the site received leaflet invitations to the event and we also undertook extensive social media and PR activity designed to encourage as many local people as possible to come and find out more about York Central.

If you couldn’t join us on the day, you can view all of the display boards here, or you can e-mail us with any feedback or questions here.
