Local communities invited to join planning consultation event

York's communities are encouraged to take part in the consultation process on this major regeneration project which is set to create a brand-new city quarter for York at an event on Monday 6th October at the National Railway Museum.

Ahead of our formal reserved matters planning application being submitted to City of York Council in November, we have launched a community consultation on the next stage of this major regeneration project.

This phase of delivery at York Central will include a range of new homes, at least 20% of which will be affordable, office and retail space, a hotel and a brand-new western station entrance, as well as a public park and extensive public realm, and fits in within the parameters of the approved outline planning permission for the whole site granted in 2019.

As part of the consultation process we will be holding a drop-in event at the National Railway Museum on Monday 6th October from 2pm to 7pm and are encouraging members of our local communities to attend. The event will take place in the Mallard Suite and can be accessed from the Leeman Road entrance of the Museum.

This information provides further details on the various elements of the project, and members of the development team will be attending the drop-in session to answer questions and explain more about these latest plans.

This consultation forms part of an ongoing engagement programme which has included two community drop-in sessions held earlier this year, attendance at several ward councillor meetings, as well as close liaison with local interest groups, including the York Access Forum and York Civic Trust.
